Venu Nair, the former Managing Director of Shoppers Stop, has officially joined Myntra

Venu Nair, the former Managing Director of Shoppers Stop, has assumed a pivotal role at Myntra as Chief of Strategic Planning and Omnichannel, as per sources familiar with the matter. His appointment took effect on Wednesday, and he will be directly reporting to Myntra CEO, Nandita Sinha.

Nair stepped down from his position as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shoppers Stop on August 31, 2023, citing personal reasons. During his tenure, which commenced in November 2020, he played a key role in the expansion of the company into new formats such as the value format Intune and SS Beauty.

Under Nair’s leadership, Shoppers Stop underwent a significant transformation, evolving into a multichannel retailer. This transition enabled customers to seamlessly access all merchandise categories both in-store and online, with real-time visibility on the company’s website and mobile app.

With nearly three decades of retailing experience, Nair is a seasoned veteran in the industry. Prior to his tenure at Shoppers Stop, he held leadership positions at Westside and Marks & Spencer in India.

During his tenure as CEO of Westside at Trent, Nair spearheaded the brand’s nationwide growth over a span of three years. His association with Marks & Spencer spanned 14 years, during which he held various roles across India and the United Kingdom. Notably, from 2012 to 2017, he served as the Managing Director of Marks & Spencer Reliance Pvt. Ltd. Nair’s tenure in London saw him successfully advocating for M&S plc’s foray into the Indian market, thereby establishing the M&S brand presence in India.
