Bharat Tex and Première Vision Forge India-France Textile Partnership

Strategic MoU aims to position Indian textiles more strongly in premium global fashion and sourcing

The Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision SA, one of the world’s leading international platforms for creative fashion, textiles and sourcing, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen India’s engagement with the global fashion and textile ecosystem.

The MoU was signed on September 2, 2026, during the Première Vision exhibition in Paris by Dr. A. Sakthivel, Core Committee Member, BTTF and Chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), and Florence Rousson, CEO – Fashion Division, Première Vision SA.

The partnership is designed as a multi-year institutional collaboration, creating a framework for greater cooperation across trade, sourcing, design, sustainability and textile heritage.

The signing ceremony was attended by Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and Dr. M. Beena, Development Commissioner (Handlooms), along with Indian industry leaders, designers, Export Promotion Council officials, Indian Embassy representatives and BTTF leadership.

The agreement builds on a Letter of Intent signed on July 14, 2026, at Bharat Tex 2026 in New Delhi, in the presence of Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh.

The partnership comes at a significant time for India’s textile and apparel industry as global brands increasingly seek differentiated products, responsible sourcing and supply-chain diversification.

Greater engagement with Première Vision can provide Indian textile and fashion companies with enhanced access to premium international buyers, designers and sourcing networks, while creating opportunities to showcase India’s capabilities in innovation, craftsmanship, sustainability and value-added textiles.

For India, the collaboration represents another step towards moving beyond volume-led exports and strengthening its presence in the high-value global fashion and textile segment.
