Maral Overseas Delivers Strong Q1 FY2027 Turnaround

Maral Overseas Ltd. has reported a strong financial turnaround for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, moving decisively back into profitability amid improved segment performance and stronger operating revenue.

The Indian textile manufacturer posted a net profit of ₹5.98 crore in Q1 FY2027, compared with a net loss of ₹12.57 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations increased 16.7% year-on-year to ₹263.21 crore, while total comprehensive income stood at ₹8.15 crore.

Yarn Division Leads Growth

The company’s yarn business remained the key growth driver, with revenue rising 18.7% to ₹192.53 crore. The segment also recorded a significant improvement in profitability, with segment profit reaching ₹12.77 crore.

The fabric business delivered another positive performance, with revenue increasing 10.4% to ₹76.03 crore and segment profit rising to ₹5.18 crore.

The garment segment, however, remained under pressure, with revenue declining 3.7% to ₹38.65 crore during the quarter.

Lower Costs Support Profitability

Maral Overseas’ return to profitability was supported not only by stronger business performance but also by improved cost management. The company successfully navigated higher raw material costs through lower finance and depreciation expenses, contributing to the sharp improvement in its bottom line.

Earnings per share also improved significantly, reaching ₹1.44, reflecting the company’s successful return to profitability.

The Q1 FY2027 performance marks a notable recovery for Maral Overseas and highlights the potential for improved operating efficiency and segment-level profitability to support the company’s financial performance. The recovery will be closely watched across the textile manufacturing sector as companies continue to focus on cost optimisation, capacity utilisation and margin improvement.
