India reaffirmed its position as a global textile leader as the Hon’ble Minister of Textiles inaugurated the India Pavilion at Heimtextil 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for home and contract textiles, held at Messe Frankfurt. Boasting the largest country participation at the event, India highlighted its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and fostering global partnerships.
Addressing a distinguished audience of global exporters, importers, and manufacturers, the Minister underscored India’s growing competitiveness in the textile sector. Emphasizing collaboration for sustainable growth, the Minister extended an invitation to all participating nations to attend Bharat Tex 2025 and explore investment opportunities within India’s thriving textile ecosystem.
During an Investors’ Meet, the Minister spotlighted India’s remarkable growth trajectory and its rising foreign direct investment (FDI) over the last decade. He credited the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative as a catalyst for India’s emergence as a competitive manufacturing hub. Urging global investors to capitalize on these opportunities, he remarked, “Come and invest in India—Make in India, Make for the World.”
The Minister also engaged with the German Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers Association (VDMA) and the IVGT (German Association of Textile and Fashion Industry). He called for deeper collaboration, emphasizing India’s status as a significant buyer of textile machinery and the mutual benefits of German manufacturers investing in local production facilities. Citing the success of a German sewing thread manufacturer thriving in India, he encouraged others to follow suit.
Highlighting the government’s unwavering support for Indian exporters, the Minister stressed the importance of participating in international events like Heimtextil to boost global visibility and enhance growth in competitive markets. The Minister’s tour of the exhibition showcased the latest innovations and craftsmanship from Indian exhibitors, reaffirming the government’s commitment to enabling the sector’s global aspirations.
The Indian delegation, led by the Minister, included Mr. Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, the Consul General of India in Germany, and other senior officials. Representatives from five Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and the Jute Board also contributed to showcasing India’s diverse textile offerings at the event.
