Schiffli Embroidery Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Aiming to Give Value to Its Members

Schiffli Embroidery Manufacturers Association (SEMA) was an initiative started five years back to solve issues which were faced by all industry members associated with this segment. Slowly the organisation realised that it needs a larger platform and thus converted this into an association and started working on betterment of the segment, informed Sanjay Bansal, President, Schiffli Embroidery Manufacturers Association (SEMA) .

He then explained that the association has taken up the task of resolving problems of the market by connecting right buyers and vendors. “Keeping the stock of spare parts was an issue so it was collectively decided to keep an inventory for the same thereby solving the issue,” he added. He informed that this association caters only to Delhi, NCR out of which there are 5 of their association’s units which comprises of a total of 40 members.

The association is now aiming to participate at exhibitions abroad also and is determined to reach out new buyers. They also plan to integrate their plan by making the association available all across India. “ We plan to target four major markets for schiffli in India, topmost being Delhi NCR, because Delhi has the biggest export market , secondly Mumbai followed by Surat and Amritsar,” averred Bansal. At the recently concluded exhibition several stalls who are members of the association participated and showcased latest ranges of laces and embroidery to visitors.
