Primark is soon opening a new store at the shopping complex alongside other brands at Stockton’s Teesside Park including H&M, Next and River Island.
If the plans go ahead, the fashion chain’s new store will bring 140 jobs to the area and is set to span over 37,400sq ft.
It has been rumored that the high street giant could be moving into the former Toys R Us site – which has stood empty since the chain closed in 2018 – although the exact location is yet to be disclosed.
The company has confirmed that if a new store is to open, the existing stores in the area, including in Middlesbrough, will not be impacted.
Primark currently has local stores in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Darlington. The retailer’s Middlesbrough store saw huge queues form when it reopened after covid restrictions were eased.
