Indian textile exports in December 2024 Sees Growth

HOME TEXTILE SECTOR AGAIN POISED FOR STRONG GROWTH

Indian textile exports in December 2024 increased by 12.76% compared to December 2023, while apparel exports saw a 12.89% rise during the same period.

The cumulative textile and apparel exports for December 2024 recorded a growth of 12.82% over December 2023.

From April to December 2024, textile exports grew by 4.87%, and apparel exports surged by 11.58%, resulting in a cumulative growth of 7.63% for Textiles and Apparel combined over the same period in 2023.

According to quick estimates, the overall exports of textiles increased by 6%, and apparel exports grew by 8.4% from January to December 2024 compared to the previous year, leading to a cumulative growth of 7% for Textiles and Apparel.

  • India’s textile imports surged significantly in December 2024, with Cotton Raw & Waste imports growing by a substantial 384.87%, reaching US$ 142.89 million. Cumulative imports of Cotton Raw & Waste from April to December 2024 increased by 84.18%.
  • Other textile imports such as yarn, fabrics, and made-ups saw a 9.69% growth in December 2024, with cumulative imports rising by 3.27% over the same period.
