Apparel Park is now open in Indian state Kerala

A step forward in the Kudumbashree’s initiative to ensure employment and income for women, a fashion designing training centre, called the Primero Apparel Park, has been opened in Indian state of Kerala’s Punalur.

50 women will work at the centre in the first phase. Machinery worth ₹50 lakh have been installed.

A six-member-committee will supervise and run the apparel park.

Markedly, Kudumbashree is the women empowerment programme of the State Poverty Eradication Mission.

K Raju, State Forest Minister inaugurated the apparel park on February 1, 2019.

The project is a joint venture with the Punalur municipality.

The park will take orders from other sellers, but Kudumbashree will also manufacturer its own brand of clothes there.
