OPERATIONS RESUME IN KARUR BUT WITH ONLY 10% STAFF

Home textile export units in Karur district started their operations with 10% staff from Monday after government allowed them to complete their pending orders.

Already behind schedule in production, the export units have raised apprehension of losing global orders if it is not streamlined.

“There are roughly 400 units in Karur district which stopped production for the last 14 days. This has adversely impacted the production.

While many guest workers have returned to their native places, Covid-19 infection has affected a section of local workers from getting back to work.
