With the spread of second wave of COVID-19 in our country, the governments, institutions, corporates, NGOs and individuals are coming together to combat the unprecedented challenge the nation has ever faced in this century.
Many leading textile and apparel manufacturing companies have taken the onus to vaccinate their staff and employees against the deadly coronavirus which has been killing and affecting many people in India.

Oil-to-retail conglomerate Reliance Industries (RIL) has signed contracts for sourcing vaccines from Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute for potentially 1.3 million persons, which includes its own employees as well as those of its partners such as BP and Google.
Himatsingka Seide a Bangalore based textile major company has been organising vaccination drives for its associates and families over the past few months.
“We have now initiated vaccination for ages 18 and above as well. A recent vaccination drive was conducted at our Corporate headquarters in Bangalore in collaboration with Manipal Hospitals,” said an official statement from the group.
Himatsingka has undertaken the responsibility to ensure that all its workforce is vaccinated in a timely manner to combat the spread of Covid-19.
To combat the unprecedented challenge Trident Group has also come forward to offer free vaccination for its employees, their family members and special drives are being arranged as per the guidelines of the government.
The chairman himself advocated about the vaccination drive to those who are working in the factories (Karamyogis) and had any apprehensions about the vaccination.
Moreover, to ensure that the members of the organization feel emotionally connected, a morning town hall takes place every day wherein well-being of all employees is discussed and remedial measures are undertaken wherever applicable.
Moving one step forward, Gurugram-based Richa Global Exports,which is one of the leading apparel export houses of India, has initiated such a camp in its one of the factories. Interestingly not only its own manpower is getting vaccinated, but workers/staff of nearby factories and villagers are also getting jab.
The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has urged its member units to vaccinate all the workers.
A. Sakthivel, chairman of the Council, said that its nearly 8,000 members will co-ordinate with the respective State governments and vaccinate all the workers.
“The Union Textile Minister had instructed me to take up this initiative. Hence, the Council has urged all its members to take the necessary steps to vaccinate all the workers,” he said.
