Sri Lanka endorses its garmenting strength in France

In a bid to increase garment exports from the country, Sri Lanka’s Export Development Board (EDB) organised an apparel promotion program in collaboration with the Sri Lankan embassy in France at the Apparel Sourcing Paris 2018 Fair.

The objective of participating in the show was to promote Sri Lanka apparel and other products, and to regain the lost opportunities and increase exports to the EU, through generalised system of preferences plus (GSP+).

Six Sri Lankan companies and two designers participated in the fair.

Screenline Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, JIA Moda (Pvt) Ltd., Stylish Garments (Pvt) Ltd., Bernard Botheju Industries (Pvt) Ltd, EL Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, Kuga Holdings (Pvt) Ltd and designers Ajai Vir Singh and Darshi Keerthisena showcased their products at the show.

As the result, an order worth US $ 800,000 is in the process of being finalised.

It’s also being reported that a buyer from Spain placed orders worth US $ 200,000 for three brands.
