The LYCRA Company, a global leader in innovative and sustainable fiber solutions for the apparel and personal care industries, has officially inaugurated its largest spandex production facility— the LYCRA® fiber (Yinchuan) Plant in Ningxia Province, China. The new site marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy, reinforcing its long-term commitment to localized supply chains, advanced manufacturing, and sustainability-driven growth.
Developed in partnership with Yinchuan Financial Capital Investment Group, the new facility represents a total investment of over RMB 800 million. In its first phase, the plant will contribute 30,000 tons of spandex production capacity, generating an annual output exceeding RMB 1 billion and creating around 500 new jobs. Over time, the company plans to expand the capacity to 120,000 tons per year, enabling it to meet the surging demand for high-quality spandex across China and the Asia-Pacific region while ensuring faster, more flexible supply chain solutions.
The Yinchuan facility—The LYCRA Company’s second production site in China—integrates global R&D expertise with local operational excellence, establishing a highly automated, intelligent manufacturing ecosystem. Guided by the company’s sustainability framework, the plant will adopt energy-efficient technologies, emission-reduction systems, and smart manufacturing processes to align growth with environmental responsibility.
