GTE AHMEDABAD: Cluster Approach Creates Impression

Ahmedabad, which has always been dominated with fabric mills especially denims has seen influx of many home grown domestic manufacturers. In fact, in the last few years the area has become popular sourcing destination for products like Kurtis, trousers, jeans and many other ready-made garments. Though very few export oriented units are seen in the cluster, but presence of giant groups like Arvind Ltd, Bhaskar, R&B Denim, Ultra Denim who have entered into garment manufacturing has heightened the scale of Ahmedabad as a manufacturing center.

Amidst slow market situation GTE Ahemdabad concluded on a good note with decent footfall on all three days. Being held at Helipad ground in Gandhinagar where earlier Textile India was also conducted the show was able to attracts players from nearby areas also.

Companies like IIGM, Magnum Resources, Tukatech, EH Turel& CO, Shangong Group, HCA, Mehala, Typical and many more participated at the exhibition and showcased technologies for different processes.

Most of the exhibitors see Ahmedabad as a growing market for garment machinery as with growing demand for volumes in domestic sectory they surely need better technologies to be installed. However, it is quite evident that the process will take time as level of manufacturing is not big.

H&H that offers applications and solutions for workwearoffers thermoplastic technology on seam sealing and adhesive film applications. At the expo the main focus of the company was to promote this technology only to players who have entered the domain of work wear. The company that offers waterproof seam sealing, sew free pocket adhesive, zipper bonding, front zip sealing, fabric joining, line bonding, overlay taping, and also adhesive backing for woven label and embroidery reported a good response from the show. “
We were targeting companies that are into work wear or protective wear industry and we got some leads here,” said Anshuman Dash, Marketing Director, H&H.

At Magnum resources booth brands like Brother, IMB, HNS, Sakho and several others were seen showcasing latest technologies.

Despite heavy rainfall on second day the traffic of visitors continued and most of the exhibitors saw movement at the stall. However, the small size of units in Ahmedabad was considered to be reason for fewer queries especially for specialized machines.
