Textile testing services by SGS get an extension in Tunisia

Switzerland-based SGS, which provides inspection, verification, testing and certification services, has expanded its testing facilities in Tunis, Tunisia. The aim is to provide textile inspection services to the country.

Notably, the lab was initialised in 2009 and now the capabilities have been increased for both physical and chemical testing. It will allow the facility to offer much wider testing services to the textile and garment manufacturers who export mostly to Europe, Euro 3 billion export value. Tunisia also exports textiles to the USA and Asia.

The expansion of testing services will support the Tunisian textile industry which is known for its strong hold in denim, underwear, knitwear, workwear and swimwear manufacturing, and now with better quality.

The extension will also provide Tunisian manufacturers with faster services under international regulations.

Currently, SGS has more than 95,000 employees. It operates over 2,400 offices and laboratories internationally.
