Arvind Fashions to Acquire Flipkart’s Stake in Arvind Youth Brands, Gains Full Ownership of Flying Machine

Arvind Fashions Ltd (AFL) has announced that it will acquire Flipkart Group’s 31.25% stake in Arvind Youth Brands Pvt. Ltd. (AYBPL) for ₹135 crore, a move that will make AYBPL a wholly owned subsidiary of AFL upon completion of the transaction. The acquisition marks a strategic step in consolidating AFL’s ownership and long-term vision for its youth-focused portfolio.

AYBPL is home to Flying Machine, one of India’s leading homegrown denim and casualwear brands. The company is engaged in the wholesale and retail of apparel and accessories under the Flying Machine label and reported a turnover of ₹432.16 crore in FY25, underlining the brand’s strong market presence and continued relevance among young consumers.

In recent years, Flying Machine has significantly strengthened its digital footprint, scaling visibility and growth across major ecommerce platforms. Its association with Flipkart played a key role in accelerating this journey, helping position Flying Machine as one of the top-performing casualwear brands online, particularly among fashion-forward, youth-centric audiences.

The transaction is expected to be completed on December 29, 2025, following which Arvind Youth Brands will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Arvind Fashions, further strengthening AFL’s control as it continues to build Flying Machine across online and offline channels.
