Toray and MAS Holdings Launch Joint Venture to Build Sustainable Apparel Hub in Odisha

Toray Industries (H.K.) Ltd. has partnered with South Asia’s largest apparel manufacturer, MAS Holdings, to establish a new manufacturing venture in India, reinforcing supply chain resilience and driving demand for advanced, sustainable textile solutions.

The joint entity, Toray MAS Apparel India, will be located within the upcoming MAS Apparel Park in Bhuinpur, Odisha. Groundbreaking for the park took place in March 2025, and operations are slated to commence in early 2026. Designed as a future-ready facility, the hub will deliver innovative, high-quality garment solutions to both domestic and global customers.

The partnership agreement was formalized in June at MAS Holdings’ Head Office in Colombo, with Teruo Funahashi, Managing Director of Toray Hong Kong, and Suren Fernando, Group CEO of MAS Holdings, signing on behalf of their organizations.

Commenting on the collaboration, Funahashi emphasized that the venture would play a vital role in creating employment opportunities and accelerating economic growth in Odisha, while aligning with global sustainability goals.
