Under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Ministry of Textiles today launched the Tex-RAMPS Scheme, a forward-looking initiative designed to strengthen and modernize India’s textile and apparel ecosystem. The scheme aims to address critical gaps in research, data systems, monitoring frameworks, and start-up support—ensuring the sector remains globally competitive and innovation-driven.
Tex-RAMPS focuses on accelerating India’s textile growth by integrating smart technologies, promoting sustainability, and improving efficiency across the value chain. As highlighted in the key focus areas, the scheme prioritizes Research & Innovation, including advancements in smart textiles, sustainable solutions, and high-efficiency processes. It also brings renewed emphasis on Data & Diagnostics, covering employment trend analysis, supply chain mapping, and an India-wide sizing study to support better product development and planning.
Central to the initiative is the development of an Integrated Data System, providing real-time analytics through the Integrated Textiles Statistical System (ITSS). This enhanced data intelligence will support industry decision-making and enable targeted interventions. The scheme also strengthens Capacity Development through state-level planning, knowledge-sharing platforms, and sector-specific events aimed at upskilling the workforce and improving industry readiness.
In addition, Tex-RAMPS reinforces India’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship through Start-up & Innovation support, including incubators, hackathons, and academia–industry collaborations that promote high-value ventures.
With this dynamic roadmap, Tex-RAMPS positions India to lead the next era of global textiles—powered by innovation, sustainability, and world-class manufacturing excellence.
