Kannan Ganesan to Join Myntra as Chief Financial Officer, Transitioning from VP – Business Finance at Flipkart

Myntra is set to welcome senior finance leader Kannan Ganesan as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective December 1 2025; development confirmed to ETCFO by Myntra, marking a key leadership transition for the fashion e-commerce major. Ganesan currently serves as Vice President – Business Finance at Flipkart, a role he has held since 2020, and is expected to take over the CFO mandate at Myntra soon.

A seasoned finance professional with over two decades of experience across e-commerce, FMCG, international markets and audit, Ganesan brings a deep understanding of financial control, business partnering and commercial strategy.

At Flipkart, he has been instrumental in driving business finance initiatives, commercial scaling, and sales/customer development finance — strengthening decision support frameworks within one of India’s largest digital commerce ecosystems.

Prior to Flipkart, Ganesan spent more than 13 years with Hindustan Unilever and Unilever globally, taking on multiple critical finance positions across India, Singapore, the U.S., and other international markets. His portfolio during this period included roles such as:

* Director – Financial Controls, Unilever (Bangalore)

* Manager – Corporate Audit (New Jersey)

* Manager – Reporting & Analytics for Asia, AMET & CEE (Singapore)

* Factory Commercial Manager, FP&A Manager HPC, and Regional Finance Manager South (India)

His early career foundation was built in audit with PKF Sridhar & Santhanam, where he served as Article Clerk for three years.

With Myntra continuing to deepen its scale in fashion commerce, brand partnerships, premiumisation, and digital-first consumer journeys — the CFO role becomes crucial to cost strategy, unit economics optimisation, monetisation opportunities and performance governance in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Ganesan’s appointment is expected to further strengthen Myntra’s financial leadership bench, bringing in a strong blend of enterprise financial discipline, cross-market exposure, and modern retail commerce experience.

His transition also aligns with the broader trend of experienced finance leaders moving into strategic digital-native roles — where the interplay of scale, profitability, consumer behaviour and platform economics is now more critical than ever.
