Lectra, a global leader in industrial intelligence technology solutions for the fashion, automotive, and furniture industries, has appointed John Brearley as President, Americas. He will also serve as a member of Lectra’s Executive Committee.
The Americas remain a pivotal region for Lectra, contributing 33% of the Group’s global sales in 2024. With 400 employees across seven locations, including the Tolland production site, and more than 8,000 customers, Lectra continues to strengthen its impact across fashion, automotive, furniture, and related sectors.
Brearley brings over four decades of experience to the role. He began his career in the UK as General Manager of the Investronica Division at Macphersons, where he was responsible for driving sales, service, and P\&L for the CAD/CAM business. In 2001, he moved to Atlanta as Vice President of Operations for Investronica, where he built a strong distributor network and achieved a remarkable 200% increase in sales in just two years.
Following Lectra’s acquisition of Investronica in 2004, Brearley became a central figure in shaping the company’s success in the Americas. As Vice President of Customer Care, he managed a team of over 50 professionals across North America, Mexico, and Central America, leading both call center and field service operations. Under his leadership, Lectra’s install base achieved a 300% improvement in mean time between failures (MTBF), while customer loyalty reached record levels. He also steered the Consumables and Spare Parts business to consistent double-digit growth, surpassing \$24 million in annual revenue. In 2020, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Customer Success, where he focused on guiding customers through their digital transformation journeys and building long-term, trust-based partnerships.
