Authentic Brands Group Expands Global Footprint with Launch of APAC Headquarters in Shanghai

Authentic Brands Group (Authentic), a global brand development, marketing, and entertainment company, has officially launched its Asia-Pacific (APAC) headquarters in Shanghai, China. The event was attended by key company leaders including Jamie Salter, Founder, Chairman & CEO; Matt Maddox, President; Wesley Chu, President, APAC; Josh Perlman, EVP and Head of Greater China; and Authentic partner David Beckham.

The opening of the APAC HQ marks a significant step in Authentic’s global expansion and reinforces its commitment to growing its presence in key international markets. The new Shanghai office will support the company’s expanding brand portfolio and partner ecosystem throughout Greater China and the broader APAC region.

“Shanghai is a dynamic city and the ideal location for our APAC headquarters,” said Jamie Salter. “China represents immense growth potential, and this office highlights our confidence in the region and our focus on building strong, localized partnerships.”

Authentic is the world’s leading owner of sports, lifestyle, and entertainment intellectual property, managing a portfolio of over 50 iconic brands generating approximately $32 billion in annual retail sales. The portfolio includes names such as Shaquille O’Neal, David Beckham, Reebok, Champion, Nautica, Marilyn Monroe, Sports Illustrated, Aéropostale, Judith Leiber, Barneys New York, Brooks Brothers, Juicy Couture, Quiksilver, Billabong, Sperry, Hunter, and Ted Baker.

Located in central Shanghai, the APAC HQ spans nearly 2,000 square meters and features five immersive showrooms, a Style Studio, executive lounge, and cutting-edge facilities. The office will serve as a regional hub for teams across lifestyle, entertainment, brand management, business development, PR, and marketing, empowering Authentic to drive impactful licensing partnerships across APAC.

Since its founding in 2010, Authentic has executed a strategic plan for global expansion through the development of regional hubs. The Shanghai launch follows the opening of its EMEA headquarters in 2024, supporting its “Think Global, Act Local” approach—leveraging global scale with localized expertise.

“Our regional offices serve as both collaboration spaces for our teams and gateways for partners to experience our brand ecosystem,” said Matt Maddox. “The APAC HQ reflects our commitment to creating centers of excellence in the world’s most influential markets.”
