Lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret parent fashion company L Brands Inc. has reported that its net sales for the fourth quarter that ended on February 2, 2019, reached US $ 4.85 billion, up marginally from US $ 4.82 billion in the similar period last year.

During the quarter, the company’s operating income settled at US $ 799.4 million, down from US $ 986.6 million in the prior-year period.

Net income of the fashion firm for the quarter was US $ 540.1 million as against US $ 664.1 million.

It is being reported that L Brands’ fourth-quarter income was adversely affected by US $ 99.24 million in expenses owning to the sale of La Senza, a Canadian fashion retailer that sells lingerie and intimate apparel.

L Brand’s full-year retail operating income also dipped to US $ 1.237 billion versus US $ 1.728 billion in fiscal 2017. Net income was drastically down to US $ 643.9 million compared to US $ 983.0 million.

However, full-year 2018 net sales were up a bit to US $ 13.237 billion from US $ 12.632 billion in fiscal 2017.

Total comparable sales of the company soared 3 percent, however a 2 percent decrease at Victoria’s Secret cut the profit margins of the company.
