Vivekananda Ambiger is delighted to share an exciting new milestone in his professional journey — he has taken on the role of Planning Manager at Tesco Bengaluru.
With a rich background spanning over a decade in retail design, project management, and brand development, Vivekananda’s journey reflects a consistent drive toward innovation, operational excellence, and impactful leadership.
Throughout his tenure at Tesco, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s retail identity and design execution across multiple regions. As Team Leader – STAR BAZAAR Planning, Design & Project Management, he led the ambitious Refit Program for 56 STAR stores across India, defining key principles, formats, and execution strategies that enhanced customer experience and operational efficiency. His work integrated creativity with practicality — blending modern retail aesthetics with functional design solutions.
In his prior role as Team Leader – Design & 3D (Central Europe, Malaysia, Thailand & India), Vivekananda managed a diverse portfolio of projects across global markets. He guided teams through end-to-end design delivery, from conceptualization to execution, while ensuring brand consistency and cost optimization. His leadership in international markets, including the brand transformation projects in Malaysia and Thailand, demonstrated his ability to bridge global standards with local insights.
Before stepping into leadership, Vivekananda honed his craft as a Senior Retail, Graphic & Store Designer, where he developed design standards, store layouts, and prototype solutions across multiple regions. His earlier experience in the fashion and apparel industry — where he worked on creative and technical design, fashion forecasting, and brand development — laid a strong foundation for his holistic understanding of design, branding, and consumer experience.
Now, as Planning Manager, Vivekananda is set to lead the next phase of retail transformation at Tesco Bengaluru — focusing on strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering design excellence at scale.
His story is one of continuous learning, resilience, and vision — a testament to how creativity, leadership, and strategic thinking can come together to build stronger, smarter, and more human-centered retail environments.
