ITMA ASIA + CITME Show Owners Extend Collaboration to Launch Joint Exhibition in Singapore

The organizers of ITMA ASIA + CITME have expanded their partnership to coordinate the joint textile machinery exhibition in another Asian location. Since its inception in 2008, the combined exhibition has been hosted biennially in Shanghai.

CEMATEX (the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers), along with its Chinese partners, including the China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT-Tex), have chosen Singapore as the venue for the exhibition in 2025.

Scheduled to take place from 28 to 31 October 2025 at the Singapore Expo, ITMA ASIA + CITME, Singapore 2025, will be managed by ITMA Services and co-organized by the Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Co.

Mr. Ernesto Maurer, President of CEMATEX, expressed,

“Having successfully organized seven editions of ITMA ASIA + CITME in Shanghai, we are now expanding our reach to support the modernization efforts of local manufacturers in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East by introducing a second exhibition location in Asia.”

Mr. Gu Ping, President of CTMA, emphasized,

“Asia stands as the world’s largest textile producer and exporter. We are excited to extend our collaboration with CEMATEX to bring ITMA ASIA and CITME to other strategic parts of Asia, thereby bolstering our members’ marketing endeavors.”

Titled “The Leading Textile Technology Exhibition Driving Regional Growth,” ITMA ASIA + CITME, Singapore 2025, anticipates occupying 60,000 square meters and aims to host over 700 exhibitors with an expected footfall of 30,000 visitors.

Mr. Maurer further noted, “Singapore has a proven track record in hosting major textile machinery exhibitions. While ITMA ASIA was previously held in Singapore in 2001 and 2005 before merging with CITME, we transitioned the event to Shanghai to leverage China’s flourishing textile sector following its accession to the World Trade Organization in 2001.”

A Dynamic Venue:

With its top-tier facilities and business-friendly ambiance, Singapore emerges as an ideal venue for exhibitions and conferences.

Mr. Charles Beauduin, Chairman of ITMA Services, elaborated,

“Singapore’s status as a premier MICE destination, coupled with its connectivity to burgeoning textile hubs in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, positions it as a prime location for such events. Its robust infrastructure and technical capabilities also support live machinery demonstrations, essential for exhibitions of this nature.”

The decision to host the second joint exhibition in Singapore has garnered positive reception from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

Mr. Yap Chin Siang, Deputy Chief Executive of STB, remarked, “We are delighted to welcome ITMA ASIA + CITME to Singapore for the first time. As a vital platform for growth, connectivity, and trade integration in the global textile market, this event underscores Singapore’s role as a leading MICE and business hub. We eagerly await the arrival of ITMA ASIA + CITME participants in 2025.”

The forthcoming ITMA ASIA + CITME exhibition is slated to be held in Shanghai at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre from 19 to 23 November 2023, following a postponement due to the pandemic. Covering an area of 160,000 square meters, the combined exhibition has attracted over 1,400 exhibitors to date.

The ITMA ASIA + CITME series will persist with its biennial schedule, with the 2024 combined exhibition scheduled from 14 to 18 October 2024 in Shanghai.
