Panos Mytaros Named Global CEO of Bata Group

Panos Mytaros, a seasoned executive with over three decades of industry experience, will assume the role of CEO in September, succeeding Sandeep Kataria, who is stepping down after five years leading the footwear giant.

Bata Group has announced the appointment of Panos Mytaros as its new Global Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Sandeep Kataria, who has led the footwear and apparel company since 2020.

Mytaros brings with him over 30 years of global leadership experience in the footwear and leather industry. Before joining Bata, he served as Group CEO of ECCO, the Danish lifestyle footwear brand, where he played a key role in driving international growth and innovation.

Kataria’s departure comes as Bata navigates a period of slowing growth. He is expected to remain in his role for up to six months to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

During his tenure, Kataria also served as CEO of Bata India. Prior to joining the company in 2017, he held senior leadership roles at Unilever, Yum! Brands, and Vodafone, managing prominent consumer brands across India and Europe with strong global presence and customer loyalty.
