Superdry to expand retail presence and product categories in India

UK-based apparel company, Superdry is planning to open around 50 physical retail stores in India in the coming three years.

The new stores will house Superdry and Superdry Sports brands and will also have new product categories such as fragrance and personal care.

Superdry entered India in 2012 and currently have 60+ retail stores in 30+ Indian cities. In the years to come, the brand will open more stores in Tier 2 cities.

The brand reported a strong reaction to its new line, Superdry Sports. The athleisure brand noted 30 percent year-on-year growth and expects the lable to contribute 15 percent of the brand’s total sales in its first year.

“The Sports category will be the next growth driver for the brand in India. Superdry Sport is at a nascent stage in India, we are testing the waters with our first store in Delhi followed by Mumbai and Bangalore,” reportedly said the company’s India Business Head.
