During this hour of pandemic, we from IMA, are also well prepared to extend a helping hand to create this new kind of manufacturing. All thanks to much advanced and well researched digital technology used to make IMA’s automatic cutting-edge technology. Gunasekaran: Yes, it’s evident that, there has been a sudden setback in terms of keeping up with the regular business scenario, but at the same time considering India’s positive reputation on export capacity, we have been offered a wonderful opportunity of producing these medical necessities. Most of the manufacturers are ready to adapt the fast changing mode and are enthusiastic about working in digital environment. The manufacturers have significant orders depending on their handling capacities. Now, units are getting more and more opportunities to realise the importance of having digitally enabled operations in terms of production and this is a right time to make use of the current situation in being digitally stable. In such times brands like IMA stand shoulder to shoulder with manufacturers to provide with proper guidance and required machinery.  As far as Ima’s existing customers are concerned, we are already helping our esteemed clients with utmost technical support in finetuning their existing machinery with slight changes in parameters. We are providing remote support to the areas which are non- approachable geographically.

“These automated machinery demands less manpower for mass production which ensures better social distancing and hygienical supply of PPE with lesser working hours. PPE may demand for similar sewing machinery, which is being used in existing apparel manufacturing as well. Hence, manufacturers need not to invest on replacing or remodelling their existing systems to initiate production of PPE. Companies with lost business on their regular product category can use their facility to produce PPE enabling themselves to serve the world as well as to meet their survival in this pandemic”

PS: How can automatic cutting or spreading machines offer some respite to manufacturers who are still in dilemma whether to switch to ppe and mask making company?

Gunasekaran: These automated machinery demands less manpower for mass production which ensures better social distancing and hygienical supply of PPE with lesser working hours. PPE may demand for similar sewing machinery, which is being used in existing apparel manufacturing as well. Hence, manufacturers need not to invest on replacing or remodelling their existing systems to initiate production of PPE. Companies with lost business on their regular product category can use their facility to produce PPE enabling themselves to serve the world as well as to meet their survival in this pandemic. Output of PPE/Masks through automated cutting lines is much higher as compared to traditional and manual process, resulting in much lower manufacturing cost of PPE. IMA machinery is meant for such mass production, which is much needed at such pandemic time to escalate supply to public and health care workers, and help businesses survive in this need of the hour.
