World’s second-largest garment exporter Bangladesh witnessed a 6.65 percent increase in its garment exports to the USA (United States of America).
The garment manufacturing country exported clothing worth US $ 5.40 billion in 2018.
In 2017, Bangladesh garment exports to the USA stood at US $ 5.06 billion.
The latest information was released by Office of Textiles and Apparel (Otexa).

The net export earnings of Bangladesh stood at US $ 5.60 billion, up 6.42 percent. The export value was US $ 5.23 billion in the corresponding period of January-December 2017.
What’s significant for Bangladesh garment industry was that of the total value, US $ 206.25 million were from the non-garment industry. The amount was US $ 205 million in the prior year.
It is being assumed that the ongoing USA-China trade war has benefitted the Bangladesh garment industry the most.
