“We welcome all the visitors and exhibitors on this lovely morning. I would like to congratulate the Sahanis for the growth every year of the show in stature and size with all the manufacturers and exporters,” AEPC Head said.

He further added, “Last year, the exports were declining due to the introduction of GST but the situation is now better. We are seeing steady growth since past few months. In January 2019, exports saw a growth of 22%. We exporters can only grow with the help of the latest technology and I thank this show to accommodate all the machine manufacturers from all over the world to the help.”

At the Inaugural Ceremony, HKL Magu also said that India has opportunity to grab a bigger chunk in the global apparel market as China is losing its edge due to USA and China Trade War.

He added that technology helps the industry grow. “We now have latest apparel technology. Every day new innovations are coming in, 3D systems are there. Today, we can manufacturer what a consumer wants, thanks to digitalisation and latest available apparel technology.”

The AEPC Chief also informed that last week he visited Japan and met the country’s Textiles Secretary. All the Chairmen of apex bodies like Texprocil (a membership of around 3,000 companies spread across major textile clusters in India), Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), AEPC…, were also there.

The Indian delegation also urged Japan to set up a machinery manufacturing plant in India. This will help Indian garment manufacturers to buy machinery at an effective price.

Praising the show, Rajeev Dewan said, “It (GTE) is a great platform for all the manufacturers to come forward ‘together’. I wish all the exhibitors a very good luck. Thank you for collaborating with GEAR.”
