On October 16, 2024, the NAEC Apparel Park was inaugurated at Sector-29, Yamuna Expressway, marking a significant milestone in the development of the apparel industry in Uttar Pradesh. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Dhirendra Singh, MLA from the Jewar constituency, and Dr. Arun Vir Singh, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). They were joined by Ms. Shruti, IAS, Shri Kapil Singh, IAS (Additional Chief Executive Officers), senior YEIDA officials, local apparel exporters, and community members.

Shri Lalit Thukral, President of the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC), outlined the ambitious vision for the apparel park, which spans 175 acres and will be equipped with ultramodern infrastructure. “The park is designed to facilitate both backward and forward linkages in the apparel supply chain. One of the most significant impacts of the park is its potential to create employment for 300,000 individuals, with a strong emphasis on local hiring—70% of these positions are expected to be filled by women. This initiative aims to empower local communities and enhance their economic stability,” said Thukral who has been working tirelessly for many years for the activation of Noida as an apparel cluster and also contributing towards realization of the apparel park.

The apparel park is projected to generate approximately Rs.15,000 crores in foreign exchange annually through exports. This substantial contribution will bolster the state’s economy and position Uttar Pradesh as a key player in the apparel industry.

In his address, Shri Dhirendra Singh commended Shri Lalit Thukral for his relentless efforts to promote the apparel industry in Noida and establish the NAEC Apparel Park. He emphasized the park’s potential to provide employment opportunities for local residents and improve the economic landscape of the state. He expressed confidence that the NAEC Apparel Park would open new avenues for the Noida apparel sector and greatly benefit the community.

Dr. Singh also assured attendees of full support from the Yamuna Authority, urging apparel entrepreneurs to expedite the establishment of their production units in the park. His appeal underscores the collaborative effort needed to make the park a thriving hub for apparel manufacturing. The ceremony included a segment honoring senior local citizens, reflecting the park’s commitment to community involvement and recognition of local contributions.

The inauguration of the NAEC Apparel Park at YEIDA represents a transformative step for the apparel industry in Uttar Pradesh. With its modern infrastructure and commitment to local employment, the park is set to play a pivotal role in the region’s economic development, fostering growth and opportunities for many.
