Pollution From Textile Plants Fomenting Disaster

A deep crisis is brewing, thanks to the pollution emanating from textile plant, which has transformed Coimbatore’s Noyyal River into a frothing disaster. The situation has come to such a sorry pass that roads in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore have been covered in froth from Noyyal River.

It is to be noted here that Noyyal river rises from the Velliangiri hills in the Western Ghats. The river travels through areas of Coimbatore and Tiruppur and meet the Kaveri.

Commuters are finding it difficult to cross the area. The river is surrounded by textile units that reportedly discharge its effluents into the water bodies.
