Ahmedabad, which has always been dominated with fabric mills especially denims has seen influx of many home grown domestic manufacturers. In fact, in the last few years the area has become popular sourcing destination for products like Kurtis, trousers, jeans and many other ready-made garments. Though very few export oriented units are seen in the cluster, but presence of giant groups like Arvind Ltd, Bhaskar, R&B Denim, Ultra Denim who have entered into garment manufacturing has heightened the scale of Ahmedabad as a manufacturing center.
Amidst slow market situation GTE Ahemdabad concluded on a good note with decent footfall on all three days. Being held at Helipad ground in Gandhinagar where earlier Textile India was also conducted the show was able to attracts players from nearby areas also.

Most of the exhibitors see Ahmedabad as a growing market for garment machinery as with growing demand for volumes in domestic sectory they surely need better technologies to be installed. However, it is quite evident that the process will take time as level of manufacturing is not big.
