Global luxury group Kering has announced the appointment of Sophie Maddaloni as General Secretary of the Group, effective immediately. Based in Paris, Maddaloni joins Kering’s Executive Committee and will report to Jean-Marc Duplaix, Group Chief Operating Officer.
In her new role, Maddaloni will oversee Kering’s governance, legal affairs, internal control, internal audit and security functions, while helping safeguard the Group’s interests and maintain the highest standards of compliance. She will work closely with Executive Management and the Board of Directors.
Maddaloni brings more than three decades of experience across major international groups, with expertise spanning legal affairs, taxation, governance, compliance and organizational transformation. Her extensive knowledge of Kering is expected to support the Group’s strategic priorities and further strengthen its governance and risk-management framework.
From Elf Aquitaine to Kering
Maddaloni began her career in 1991 at Elf Aquitaine, where she spent more than a decade in international tax roles. She subsequently joined Alstom T&D in 2002 as Vice President Tax and Technip in 2004, where she headed the Group’s tax and legal entities functions.
She joined Kering in 2017 as Group Tax Director, leading the transformation of the tax function and contributing to the strengthening of Kering’s compliance and risk-management framework.
Maddaloni holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas and a postgraduate degree in International Business Law and Taxation from HEC Paris – Université de Sceaux.
