ATDC has collaborated for the first time in India with Textile Institute, UK, to offer Continuing Education (CE) Programmes under the ATDC- Institute of Apparel Management (IAM) Continuing Education Programme Division. “We have handpicked the essential skills and competencies to develop a Flagship course which you will find an extremely gainful value addition to your executives and staff’s further upgrades and career progression”, said Rakesh Vaid, Senior Vice Chairman, ATDC. The objective of the Continuing Education (CE) Programmes is to help working executives and aspiring professionals through part-time weekend short- term “Power” courses to improve domain skill competencies.

ATDC courses include an Advanced Course, i.e., Textile & Fashion Business Specialist (International Certification) eight months integrated programme and Foundation Courses as Component Modules that consist of Garment Construction Essentials (four months) , Quality Assurance Control & Audit (three months) , Graphic Design(four months) and Start a Fashion Boutique (three months). These courses are offered by experienced faculty members from ATDC/NIFT/TIUK/NISTI and other distinguished industry experts.

Vaid expressed his happiness, saying, “I am happy and look forward to early nomination of executives for the programme from Faridabad, Gurugram and Tirupur. These CE Programmes aim to upgrade member skills and competencies, which will lead to personal and organisational growth,” he added.

ATDC is the largest quality Vocational Training Provider (VTP) dedicated to the Apparel Sector under the aegis of AEPC. Registered as a Society under Societies Act in 1996, ATDC was approved as a Nodal Agency by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India in 2010 for implementing the Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS) of the MoT. It grew in leaps and bounds, emerging as the single Vocational Training Provider for Apparel Sector with a record of training over 2,17,000 candidates under the ISDS.

ATDC works along with various Central and State Government Agencies in 24 states across India. In the last decade, over 3,00,000 candidates have been trained through ATDC Pan-India network of about 175 centres with close to 73 percent wage placements. The mission of The ‘Textile Institute’ is to promote professionalism in all areas associated with the Textile / Apparel and allied Industries worldwide. ‘ATDC-IAM Continuing Education Division’ was formally launched in 2018 with the main objective to engage the Industry professionals interested in upgrading their ‘skills’ and ‘competencies’.

The courses are designed for candidates aspiring to a career or career progression in the Textile & Fashion industry and who want to take things to a higher level.  Students can look forward to acquire recognized Professional International Qualification certified by the UK, which opens up new career avenues in fashion and textile industrial units. These units are best suited for optimal implementation of the programmes. Individuals on the cusp of transition or ‘hungry for change,’ who want to shape careers in the Apparel & Textile Value Chain, are also welcomed. A discount of 20 percent on the fee may be offered in case a candidate is from an AEPC member-exporter and a 10 percent  discount will be extended to those working in the Apparel & Textile Industry.
