Gap Inc. and Ambercycle have announced a partnership aimed at integrating textile-to-textile recycled materials into Athleta products. Ambercycle’s cycora® regenerated polyester, derived from end-of-life textiles, will replace conventional polyester in Athleta’s lineup starting in 2026, making Athleta the pioneering performance apparel brand to adopt cycora® at scale.
Chris Blakeslee, CEO of Athleta, emphasized the brand’s commitment to sustainability and quality, stating, “As a B Corp-certified brand, Athleta is dedicated to reducing our environmental impact by incorporating recycled materials like cycora®, aligning with our values and maintaining our high quality standards.”
Athleta’s inclusive apparel range, designed by and for women, integrates performance and technical features to support various aspects of women’s lifestyles, from yoga and training to travel and recovery.

He praised Ambercycle’s molecular regeneration technology for producing cycora® as a sustainable alternative to virgin-grade polyester, with the potential to significantly reduce waste and emissions while advancing circularity on a large scale.
