Intex South Asia 2018 concluded recently in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The fair was held from November 14-16.
Over 200 textile suppliers from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Switzerland, Australia and other nations presented their innovations in yarns, apparel and denim fabrics, garment accessories and related services.
India attended the textile fair with 45 companies while Taiwan with 12 companies. Their pavilions were organised by Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), respectively.
More than 3,500 garment exporters, sourcing offices, brands & retailers, indenting agents, e-tailers and others from over 18 countries and regions visited Intex South Asia 2018.
A panel discussion on ‘Textile 4.0 – South Asia Dialogue’ highlighting the upcoming industry trends was also held. Besides, Fashion Fiesta – Intex South Asia’s networking event of over 500 industry representatives was organised alongside fashion shows to uncover the creativity and design in textiles.
An ‘Interactive Business Forum’ also gave helpful insights on ‘Future Proofing for Business – The Sustainable Way’, the role and commitment of BCI towards sustainability and Global brands associated with sustainable cotton sourcing.
Overall, there was an 18 percent growth recorded in the buyers’ footfall and 14 percent increase in exhibitors as compared to last year.
Next of Intex South Asia will run from November 20-22, 2019, at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre (BMICH) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
