Brit fashion retailer Ted Bakers’ e-sales boom 24.1%

Ted Bakers, a British luxury fashion retail company, has reported a 3.5 percent surge in revenue to US $ 395.8 million for the 28-week period ended in August 2018.

The fashion company’s profit before tax dropped 3.2 percent to US $ 31.6 million. Retail sales during the period were up 1.1 percent to US $ 284.7 million. E-commerce sales during the period zoomed 24.1 percent to US $ 68.5 million, representing a 24.1 percent of total retail sales.

Wholesale business grew by 10.1 percent to reach US $ 111 million. The company’s licence income was up 11.7 percent to US $ 14 million.

Sales of Ted Baker womenswear were up 7.8 percent to US $ 247.6 million and womenswear now represents 62.5 percent of total sales. However, menswear sales were down 3 percent to US $ 148.5 million. Menswear represents 37.5 percent of total sales.

Retail sales in the period in the UK and Europe, Ted Baker said, increased 1 percent or 0.7 percent in constant currency to US $ 190.5 million.
