Migros-Gruppe / Groupe Migros / Migros has strengthened its category leadership with the appointment of Sylvia Baitsch as Category Manager for Apparel & Leisure. Based in Zurich, Sylvia brings decades of deep expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, and retail leadership, further reinforcing Migros’ focus on customer-centric assortments and strong supplier partnerships.
In her new role, Sylvia will oversee the Apparel & Leisure category, driving strategic assortment planning, supplier management, and commercial performance. Her extensive background in data-driven decision-making, market analysis, and category optimisation will support Migros’ efforts to deliver relevant, high-quality products aligned with evolving consumer needs.
Prior to joining Migros, Sylvia held senior leadership roles at BRACK CH AG, where she led the Baby and Kids category with responsibility for e-commerce optimisation, supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and team leadership. Her tenure was marked by strong category growth, effective KPI management, and the development of scalable purchasing and assortment strategies across digital channels.
Earlier in her career, Sylvia served in key buying and category management positions at baby-walz GmbH and Otto Group, where she managed complex portfolios spanning toys, baby products, textiles, and home categories. She also brings entrepreneurial and operational experience from her time as Managing Director at Baby-Community, along with early leadership roles in purchasing and store management. With her comprehensive retail and sourcing expertise, Sylvia is well positioned to contribute meaningfully to Migros’ continued success in the Apparel & Leisure segment.
