Benetton Group has announced the appointment of Nikhil Upadhye as its new Managing Director for India, effective 16th October 2025. He succeeds Ramprasad Sridharan, who stepped down earlier this year to pursue new professional opportunities.
Upadhye returns to Benetton India after serving as the Commercial Director until February 2025. With a career spanning over two decades, he has held leadership roles at Idea Cellular, Reebok, Tata Wolverine, Welspun UK, and Jio, bringing extensive expertise in the sports, footwear, and fashion sectors. An IMT Ghaziabad alumnus and Sloan Fellow from London Business School, Upadhye is well-positioned to lead the brand through its next phase of growth.
Benetton acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing MD, stating, “Ram provided valuable leadership post COVID-19, helping the brand consolidate its position through a multi-channel approach, effective product offerings, and enhanced communication strategies.”
India continues to be a strategic market for Benetton, which has maintained a strong presence in the country since 1992. “We look forward to ushering in a new era of growth for Benetton in India,” the company added.
With Nikhil Upadhye at the helm, Benetton India aims to strengthen its market presence, drive innovation, and reinforce its commitment to delivering fashion that resonates with Indian consumers.
