Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail’s revenue jumps 11%

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL), based in India, has reported that its EBITDA increased by 62 percent during the second quarter of the current fiscal year. Its overall revenue grew by 11 percent.

ABFRL-owned Madura, which consists of Lifestyle brands – Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England, Fast Fashion – Forever 21 and People, recorded a 52 percent surge in EBITDA growth at to Rs. 114 crore diring the quarter as against Rs. 75 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Revenues of Madura improved by 13 per cent to Rs. 1,263 compared to Rs.1,119 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY 18.

“Innerwear distribution network continues to expand aggressively with approximately 9,500 outlets across the country. The business also had a successful launch of women’s innerwear and Polo Ralph Lauren,” the press release issues by the company said.

Another fashion business operated by ABFRL, Pantaloons witnessed  growth in EBITDA of 47 percent from Rs. 35 crore to Rs. 52 crore in the second quarter of the fiscal year.

Pantaloons’ revenues grew by 6 percent over Q2 reaching Rs. 787 crore.

Furthermore, the international brands are all set to expand distribution to build upon the existing brand portfolio, ABFRL said.

As on September 30, 2018, ABFRL had a spread of 2,576 brand stores, approximately 14,000 multi-brand outlets (including 9,500+ trade outlets in Innerwear) and 4,100+ points of sale in Department stores across the country.
