SIMA DEMANDS FREE TRADE AGREEMENT FOR BETTER BUSINESS WORLD WIDE

At the 11th CEO conference by the South Indian Mills Association (SIMA), the leaders in the market demanded Free trade agreement with European Union, Promotion of research and skilled workers.

The council believe to improve the textile industry government should help seting up more skill development centres as industry needs skilled workers and not subsidised, council has appealed to negotiation with European Union For free trade Agreement(FTA) and promotion research was given emphasis too apart from these actors the council also highlighted the need to improve the quality of cotton produced and the modernisation of the processing segment.

Expressing a similar view, SIMA chairman said ,The duty-free access and preferential trade agreements extended to the competing nations have adversely affected India’s export growth. Until the country conclude FTAs, especially the one with EU, India will need some protection and competitive edge by continuing all the export benefits extended during the pre-GST era to sustain the present market share.
