India’s Apparel Sector Sees Marginal Growth of 0.89% in FY (April-August) 2017-18

According to the latest data released Ready Made Garment Exports from India were to the tune of USD 1337.59 million in August 2017 with the increase of 0.56% against the corresponding month of August 2016 which was USD 1330.20 million. In rupee term export for the month of August 2017 was Rs. 8556.3s Cr. as against Rs. 8904.32 Cr. in August 2016 with the decline of 3.91%. India’s RMG export to World in the April-August of 2017-18 was to the tune of USD 7520.94 mn, which has increased slightly by 4.94% as compared to the same period of previous financial year. During April-August 2016-17, India’s apparel exports were to the tune of USD 7166.92 mn.





It is being observed that post demonetisation and GST things have really become challenging for the apparel industry. Most of the exporters are still confused over a lot of things and are still waiting for clarity in business.
