More than 100 exhibitors, comprising leading brands and manufacturers and retailers of a variety of products like ladies tops, trousers, leggings, denim, mens’ shirts, blazers, suits, trousers, T-shirts, kidswear, sportswear, ethnic, party and occasion wear were seen displaying their latest collections at India’s most prominent convention exhibition centre, PRAGATI MAIDAN Hall Number 7. Participants and brands from all garment hubs like Delhi, Noida, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Tirupur and many others were also seen at the show.
The sole idea of the exhibition is to bridge the gap between buyers and sellers; by bringing together manufacturers/brands that can offer quality, fashion and competitive prices to match the requirements of retailers, retail chains, e-commerce companies and distributors. Leading retail chains like Pothy’s, Chennai Silk, RMKV, Shoppers Stop, Lifestyle, Landmark Group, Bazar India, Reliance Trends, Amazon, Snapdeal, Myntra, Westside and many more will be visiting the exhibition. More than 10,000 visitors visited the 2017 show from far and near, from places like Delhi, NCR, Meerut, Aligarh, Kanpur, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Bihar, Gorakhpur, Haridwar, Saharanpur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Panipat, Hyderabad, Trichy, Madurai, Chennai and Bangalore to Surat and Ahmedabad, etc. To attract visitors from all parts of India, especially from Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities, massive promotions were done through newspapers, radio, outdoor advertisements, social media and roadshows all over the country. This year another pavilion is being launched: Athleisure, which will showcase products like Fitness & Activewear, Yogawear, Swimwear, Beach/Resortwear, Intimate Apparel, Bodywear and Casual Lifestyle Basics. The show is inspired by the healthy and active lifestyle ethos emerging in India. The pavilion will see an audience from fashion boutiques, retailers, the resorts segment, specialty retailers and fitness/ yoga studios. The show will run alongside Garment Show of India to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 17,18, 19 June 2018. "Athleisure will focus on quality over quantity and therefore a smaller, intimate show will present a tightly curated selection of likeminded brands," said Deepti Marwah, Co-Organiser, Garment Show of India.
Living a healthy existence through diet and exercise has become today’s lifestyle trend, and has resulted in a surge in lifestyle-focussed fitness programs. Manufacturers have responded with performance-focussed functional apparel for specific categories. Over time, these designs have become increasingly fashion influenced and that fashion has spilled over from the studios to the streets. Athleisure is now a standalone category in the clothing industry. Consumers continue to respond positively to the athleisure category, where they can find comfort, fashion and performance, while associating the look with their active choice of lifestyle. Today, every shopping place, be it a mall, supermarket, retailer or wholesaler, there is a special counter for activewear and thus the show being launched alongside Garment Show of India is an excellent parallel.
The show will feature a wide range of products from the fitness fashion marketplace including active performance, active apparel, yoga fashion apparel, accessories and intimate wear from leading brands and manufacturers.
TARGET VISITORS will include manufacturers, brands, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, agents, e-commerce companies and retail chains homing onto the activewear/ intimate/sports/yoga/fitness segments from all over India.
Booking for the Garment Show of India is now open so anyone who wants to make a mark in the apparel and fashion industry should definitely be part of the show.
